Challenges

The defense and cybersecurity industry encompasses the acquisition of cyber-physical systems and information technologies for use in national defense. Therefore, this industry combines all the characteristics of the civilian industries for aerospace, automotive, rail transport, and medical systems with the addition of supporting the specialized needs of defense departments.

The role of Digital Thread

Advanced digital thread practices can significantly impact Defense & Intelligence systems, from conceptual design and procurement to deployment and disposal. Model-Based Acquisition enables precise specifications, rapid evaluation of vendor solutions, model validation, “what-if” analysis, and trade studies at the systems engineering level.

At the product design level, Intercax has collaborated with customers across aerospace, land, marine, and IT applications. A federation of models across engineering domains supports use cases such as product variant evaluation, networked component integration, and legacy system documentation.   2. Query and search models include bill-of-materials, requirement structures, CAD, database tables, and records.

What is MBSE ?

Modern engineering uses computer models and systems engineering (SE) is following this pattern. The basis of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) is that the system can be captured in a single unified computer model, a single source of truth from which all required SE views and artifacts can be generated. Good MBSE practices can reduce errors and ambiguity, shorten development times, and improve collaboration between disciplines.
