Each Syndeia release includes new tool integrations. In the Syndeia 3.6 release, these are the system architecture modeling tool GENESYS from Vitech and the Zuken ECAD data management repositories DS-CR and DS-E3. Check here for a complete list of thirty integrated tools with version compatibility.
Full Syndeia integrations offer a variety of important features. First, the data from these models is displayed in the Syndeia Web Browser and Cameo, Rhapsody and Standalone clients in a user-friendly tree format with familiar nomenclature and categories, making it easy to find specific model elements, incorporate them in the digital thread, and track their connections to other elements. Second, a set of Syndeia Cloud REST API endpoints to that model repository are documented so that users can develop their own custom scripts, notebooks and dashboards to pull data from those models in their digital thread analyses. Third, integration-specific tutorials and video demos are made available on our open Confluence website, a total of 23 for the three new integrations.
GENESYS (Vitech)
Syndeia 3.6 includes integration to the GENESYS (Zuken Vitech) system architecture modeling tool. Users can add and navigate GENESYS repositories directly from the Syndeia Web Dashboard or local clients. The structure and relations of system components and requirements can be displayed in both Tree View and Graph View, as shown in Figure 1. Users can create digital thread relations between GENESYS artifacts and artifacts in any integrated repository, such as Jira, Teamcenter, Windchill, Jama, TestRail, and others.
DS-CR/DS-E3
DS-CR and DS-E3 are Zuken’s next-generation data management systems for electrical design data, DS-CR for PCB circuit designs and layouts generated by Zuken CR-8000 series design tools and DS-E3 for wire harness, cable and panel layout electrical designs generated by Zuken E3 series design tools. In Figure 2 and Figure 3, we show the contents of these repositories in the Repositories page of the Syndeia Web Browser. From this tree, we can view and add inter-model relations and launch the Digital Thread Explorer to trace those connections graphically. From the Syndeia Cameo plugin client, users can execute model transforms from the Zuken repositories to SysML.
In addition to the new integrations, several existing integrations have been enhanced. In the next blog post in this series, we will describe additions to the Teamcenter, DOORS NG, Windchill, Aras and VOLTA integrations.
