Shortly after the release of Syndeia version 3.4, Dr. Dirk Zwemer and Dr. Manas Bajaj gave an on-line presentation to a group specifically interested in the new integration to Aras Innovator. Lightly edited down to 40 minutes, this presentation provides an in-depth demonstration of many of the new features in Syndeia 3.4, particularly as they apply to Aras. This includes the ability, through the Syndeia Web Dashboard, to

  • Browse and search an on-line repository
  • Create new connections across domain boundaries
  • Visualize connections through the Digital Thread Explorer™, and
  • Apply graph analysis using the Gremlin query language.

Dr. Bajaj, Chief Systems Officer at Intercax, provides a detailed demonstration of using Jupyter notebooks, an open-source data science tool, to access Syndeia directly through its REST API and explore the full digital thread beyond the Syndeia Cloud-managed graph. This Notebook example accesses the Aras repository via Syndeia Cloud, extracts artifact and attribute data from inside that repository, and analyzes and plots the results. The notebook becomes a reusable report generation utility that can be refreshed as the system changed.

This video is intended for viewers new to Syndeia, with an introduction to Intercax’s overall approach to integrated MBSE. However, some Syndeia features, e.g. customized mapping for model transform between domains, are not treated in detail.
